Five wagons of an empty goods train derailed early Tuesday morning at New Mayanaguri station in the Alipurduar Division of West Bengal. Restoration work is currently underway, with efforts to minimize disruptions to train operations.
The Northeast Frontier Railway zone is closely monitoring the situation to ensure that services can be fully restored as quickly as possible. Senior officials, including the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Amarjit Gautam, arrived at the scene to assess the situation and lead the investigation into the cause of the derailment.
